SumUp

Connect your SumUp account to Till with one click using OAuth. Get transaction history and sales insights.

Overview

SumUp is one of the UK's most popular card payment providers for small businesses. Till integrates with SumUp to pull your transaction history and give you insights into your sales performance.

SumUp

SumUp

OAuth 2.0 · one-click authorisation

Straightforward transaction reporting for sales trends, payment methods and merchant activity.

What Till can access

When you connect SumUp, Till requests access to:

  • Transaction history: all completed transactions including amounts, payment types and timestamps
  • Merchant profile: your merchant code and business name

Till never modifies your SumUp account. All access is read-only.

How to connect

Open settings

In the Till app, navigate to Settings then Connections.

Click Connect SumUp

Click the Connect SumUp button. You will be redirected to SumUp's authorisation page.

Sign in to SumUp

Sign in with your SumUp account credentials (email and password).

Authorise Till

SumUp will show you that Till is requesting access to your transaction history. Click Authorise to grant access.

Return to Till

You will be redirected back to Till automatically. Your SumUp connection status will show as Connected with your merchant code.

Till will begin importing your transaction data straight away.

What you will see in Till

Once connected, your sales dashboard will show:

  • Total sales and transaction count for any date range
  • Average transaction value and trends
  • Sales by hour so you can identify your peak trading times
  • Payment method breakdown covering card types and payment methods
  • Refunds tracked from transaction events
  • Tips if included in transaction data

Troubleshooting

Connection failed

If you see "Failed to complete authorisation":

  1. Make sure you are signing in with the correct SumUp account
  2. Check that your SumUp account is active
  3. Try clearing your browser cookies for SumUp and reconnecting

Token expired

SumUp access tokens are short-lived. Till automatically refreshes them, but if a refresh fails you may need to reconnect:

  1. Go to Settings then Connections
  2. Click Disconnect next to SumUp
  3. Click Connect SumUp again to reauthorise

Missing transaction data

  • Only completed transactions are imported
  • Very recent transactions may take a few minutes to appear
  • Item-level detail is only available when your SumUp setup includes it in the transaction data

Disconnecting

To disconnect SumUp, go to Settings then Connections and click Disconnect. You can reconnect at any time.
