Google Analytics & Search Console

Connect Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console to Till to see website traffic, search performance and visitor behaviour alongside your sales data.

Overview

Till integrates with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Search Console (GSC) to bring your website traffic and search performance data into the same platform as your sales insights. This gives you a complete picture of how customers find you online and how that translates into revenue.

  • Google Analytics 4 — sessions, users, page views, traffic sources, device and geographic breakdowns
  • Google Search Console — search queries, impressions, clicks, average position, indexed pages

What Till can access

When you connect your Google account, Till requests read-only access to:

From Google Analytics 4

  • Sessions and active users over time
  • Page views and engagement metrics
  • Traffic sources (organic, direct, referral, social, paid)
  • Device breakdown (desktop, mobile, tablet)
  • Geographic data (country, city)
  • Landing page performance

From Google Search Console

  • Search queries that lead users to your site
  • Impressions and click counts per query
  • Click-through rate and average position
  • Indexed pages and coverage status

Till never modifies your Google Analytics or Search Console data. All access is strictly read-only.

Prerequisites

Before connecting, you need:

  1. A website with Google Analytics 4 installed — if you haven't set up GA4 yet, follow Google's setup guide.
  2. Google Search Console verified for your domain — verify your site ownership using Google's verification guide.
  3. The Google account that owns these properties — you will sign in with this account during the connection flow.

If you don't have GA4 or Search Console set up yet, you can still use all other Till features. Come back to connect these when your website analytics are ready.

How to connect

Open settings

In the Till app, navigate to Settings then Connections.

Click Connect Google Analytics

Click the Connect Google Analytics button. You will be redirected to Google's sign-in page.

Sign in with Google

Sign in with the Google account that owns your Analytics and Search Console properties.

Grant read-only permissions

Google will show you the permissions Till is requesting. These are limited to read-only access to your Analytics and Search Console data. Click Allow to grant access.

Select your property

If you have multiple GA4 properties, select the one for your business website. Till will automatically detect and link your Search Console data for the same domain.

Return to Till

You will be redirected back to Till automatically. Your Google connection will show as Connected in Settings.

Visit the Traffic page to see your website data straight away.

What features are unlocked

Once connected, you gain access to:

  • Traffic dashboard — see sessions, users, page views, traffic sources and device breakdown for any date range
  • Visibility and AEO metrics — search performance data, impressions, click-through rates and position tracking
  • Traffic reports — generate scheduled or on-demand traffic reports via the AI agent
  • Agent traffic analysis — ask the AI agent questions about your website traffic, trends and visitor behaviour

Disconnecting

To revoke Till's access:

  1. Go to SettingsConnections
  2. Find the Google Analytics connection
  3. Click Disconnect

You can also revoke access from your Google Account permissions page.

FAQ

I don't have GA4 set up yet

Google Analytics 4 is the current version of Google Analytics (Universal Analytics was retired in July 2024). To get started, create a GA4 property in your Google Analytics account and add the tracking code to your website. Most website builders (Shopify, Wix, WordPress) have built-in GA4 integration.

Does Till modify my analytics data?

No. Till only reads your data. We never write to, modify or delete anything in your Google Analytics or Search Console accounts.

Can I connect multiple properties?

Currently Till connects to one GA4 property per account. If you have multiple websites, connect the property for your primary business site.

What's the difference between GA4 and Universal Analytics?

Universal Analytics (UA) was Google's previous analytics platform, which was sunset in July 2024. GA4 is the current standard and uses an event-based data model. Till only supports GA4.

How often is the data updated?

Till fetches data from Google's APIs in near real-time. Most data is available within a few hours of the activity occurring, consistent with Google Analytics' own processing times.
